Position Overview

Salary:
At Rapid City Medical Center, we are looking for a Histology Lab Manager to oversee our laboratory operations. This role entails providing management oversight while offering bench support to laboratory personnel.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise daily activities of laboratory staff
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting for laboratory equipment
  • Perform embedding, microtomy, gross tissue dissection, processing, and staining
  • Execute routine and specialized staining procedures
  • Act as a liaison between the histology laboratory and other staff members
  • Enhance workflow efficiency
  • Ensure rapid turnaround times and elevate overall quality assurance within the histology lab
  • Review and update departmental policy and procedure manuals as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all procedural, safety, and personnel policies set by the organization and regulatory bodies
  • Promote professional development and engage in quality improvement initiatives by staying informed about new technologies
  • Manage department inventory and oversee invoicing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ASCP HT Certification required
  • Must meet CLIA 88 regulations for tissue gross dissection
  • At least two years of experience in a Histology Laboratory, preferably in a Dermatology environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficiency in computer applications
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities
  • Gross dissection skills are a plus; training will be provided.
