Clinical Education Specialist RN

As a Clinical Education Specialist RN at the University of New Mexico, you will play a vital role in developing and leading education programs for specialized patient care within clinical protocols. Using evidenced-based research and national standards, you will train staff and students, and perform clinical instruction on the home unit. Collaboration with the Clinical Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Unit Director is essential in planning and implementing pertinent curricula. Your expertise will be crucial in monitoring trends and implementing educational strategies to ensure quality standards and patient safety parameters are achieved.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead education programs for specialized patient care within clinical protocols
  • Train staff and students, and perform clinical instruction on the home unit
  • Collaborate with Clinical Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Unit Director to plan and implement pertinent curricula
  • Monitor trends and implement educational strategies to ensure quality standards and patient safety parameters are achieved
  • Provide safe direct patient care within nursing protocols and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • 18 months of directly related experience
  • Current New Mexico RN license or RN license recognized by reciprocity by the State of New Mexico
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers
  • Instructor in Unit-Required Certifications within 90 days
  • Instructor in BLS, ACLS, NRP, or other instruct certification preferred
Physical Conditions:

The ability to lift up to 100 pounds is required. Work may involve exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials, requiring personal protective equipment.
