Ideal Candidate Profile

We are in search of a skilled and meticulous Laboratory Operations Manager to lead the daily administrative and managerial functions of our diagnostic laboratory. This role entails overseeing various non-technical operations to ensure adherence to regulations, efficient resource management, and effective communication among staff and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative operations within the laboratory, including budget oversight, procurement, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to establish contracts with payors (insurance) for laboratory services.
  • Implement projects as directed by senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines, including safety protocols and industry-specific requirements.
  • Develop and execute policies and procedures to enhance administrative processes and improve laboratory efficiency.
  • Coordinate with laboratory personnel and external vendors to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance assessment of administrative staff.
  • Work with senior management to formulate strategic plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports on laboratory operations, focusing on financial performance, resource utilization, and compliance metrics.
  • Act as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments, as well as external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on advancements in laboratory management best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the administrative team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, laboratory management, or a related field. A California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in laboratory administration or management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, including familiarity with equipment, supplies, and standard protocols.
  • Understanding of laboratory revenue cycle management, including insurance reimbursements and patient collections.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing laboratory operations, such as CLIA and CAP.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in commonly used software applications in laboratory and office settings.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team of administrative professionals.
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
