About the Opportunity:

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Molecular Biology Research Associate to become a vital part of our innovative in vitro pharmacology team. This role focuses on pioneering advancements in gene therapy and siRNA applications for neurological and neuromuscular disorders. As an integral member of our research unit, you will contribute significantly to various research initiatives, including the processing of tissue samples, conducting biodistribution studies, developing biomarker assays, and managing antibody screening efforts. Join us in our commitment to revolutionizing treatment options for patients suffering from neurological and neuromuscular conditions through state-of-the-art gene therapy methodologies.


Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive molecular biology support across programs, including biodistribution assessments and quality control to validate reagents, vectors, and construct designs.
  • Perform tissue sample processing techniques for the isolation of DNA, RNA, and proteins for subsequent analyses.
  • Conduct gene expression evaluations using methodologies such as RT-/ddPCR and ELISA assays, along with RNAseq library preparation and other molecular biology tasks as required.
  • Assist in the development of in vitro bioassays within engineered cell lines and disease-relevant in vitro models.
  • Offer administrative and operational assistance to the In Vitro Pharmacology team, including procurement processes, database management, and laboratory oversight.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze experiments under guidance while maintaining meticulous documentation of findings.
  • Manage vendor interactions effectively.
  • Ensure a safe laboratory environment and adhere to good laboratory practices.
  • Collaborate within a dynamic, cross-functional scientific environment.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related scientific field with no prior experience required.
  • Familiarity with fundamental molecular biology techniques, including cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, and PCR.
  • Experience with basic protein assay techniques, such as Western blotting and ELISA.
  • Knowledge of essential cell biology methods, including aseptic cell culture, cell counting, and cell banking.
  • Exposure to gene therapy and biodistribution techniques is advantageous.
  • Ability to quickly learn new methodologies.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and a solid work ethic.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in gene therapy research, particularly focused on neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
  • Reliability and a strong orientation towards achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and high-throughput screening systems is a plus.
