Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable individual to join our production team at Smithfield Foods. As a Production Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe production of our high-quality meat products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to support production operations
  • Perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength, and stamina
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on meeting production demands and maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and maintain a positive and respectful work environment
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
  • Ability to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
  • Ability to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
  • Ability to work with a knife (if trained)
  • Ability to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
  • Ability to work in an environment that is wet and humid
  • Ability to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work around strong smells/odors
  • Ability to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift
  • Ability to walk long distances
