  • Injury Management: Perform minor first aid, investigate incident root causes, and implement return-to-work procedures as needed.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and provide feedback to crew members, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Work Planning: Assist in planning upcoming work to identify potential safety issues and solutions.
  • Training and Development: Develop and conduct job site safety orientations for new team members, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Emergency Planning: Establish emergency planning with project management, including emergency services, warning signals, evacuation procedures, and escape routes.
  • Hazardous Materials Management: Develop systems for proper handling of hazardous materials, including use, storage, shipment, spill control, and disposal.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including periodic industrial hygiene and environmental sampling.
  • Corporate Audits: Participate in corporate safety audits and follow-up procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Four or more years of experience in workplace safety in the construction industry (preferred).
  • Certifications: CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
  • Skills: Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CHST, OHST, STS, CSP, and EMT certifications.
  • Additional Qualifications: Experience with federal and state environmental regulations, and a background in physical therapy.
