Music Department Assistant

### Job Title: Music Department Assistant

### Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Music Department as a Music Department Assistant. This is a part-time position that requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

### Key Responsibilities

* Assist with the setup and striking of the stage for music-related events
* Monitor practice rooms on an assigned schedule
* Accompany voice lessons on piano (selected students)
* Host and assist at music department events and concerts
* Maintain databases such as inventories of department-owned equipment and materials
* Assist music faculty/staff with grading and other duties as required

### Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to lift, pull, and push heavy objects such as music chairs and stands and musical instruments. The successful candidate will be able to interact with visitors such as prospective students and their parents, guest artists, and others.

### Qualifications

* Office skills such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and/or their Word, Excel, and Publisher counterparts
* Ability to lift, pull, and push heavy objects
* Ability to interact with visitors
* Some positions require piano skills used to accompany voice lessons
