Job Summary

The Mental Health Nurse is a key member of our team at Communicare, responsible for managing and directing the medical clinics at our various office locations. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor client progress and problems between medication clinics and report relevant findings to the psychiatrist/physician.
  • Counsel clients on the importance of following the medication regimen and observe client's response to medication.
  • Provide various forms of therapy (individual, group, family, marital) as appropriate to the level of training.
  • Complete reports, records, logs, and other required data as required for client records.
  • Coordinate all activities regarding required nursing duties and responsibilities.
  • Consult with other staff members regarding clinical cases and issues.
  • Assist the psychiatrist/physician during medication clinics.
  • Participate in consultation and education activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Conduct in-service training sessions for staff.
  • Attend administrative and clinical staffing.
  • Receive clinical supervision.
  • Conduct intakes.

Requirements
  • Valid MS driver's license, personal auto, liability insurance, and insurable driving record.
  • Maintain a valid nursing license throughout employment.
  • Ability to relate to mental health and substance abuse clients.
  • Ability to work independently and accept supervision.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and occasionally stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Compensation details: $40,000-$50,000 Yearly Salary
