Job Summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a highly skilled Principal Environmental Test Engineer I to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing test procedures for dynamic and thermal environmental testing of our components and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create hardware test procedures and ensure test readiness
  • Unblock issues that arise during test campaigns
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for environmental test
  • Develop standard operating procedures for environmental test technicians
  • Establish and increase the efficiency of environmental test processes
  • Troubleshoot and identify ultimate root cause of issues in environmental test processes
  • Enable production autonomy by understanding requirements, simplifying work processes, and automating actions
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 9 years related experience
  • Experience in a hardware test environment for the Aerospace industry
  • Experience operating/maintaining thermal chambers, TVAC chambers, and/or vibration shakers
  • Experience with test instrumentation (i.e. thermocouples, accelerometers, pressure transducers, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers
  • Familiarity with RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD-xxx, GEVS, SMC, etc.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to scale production rate capability
  • Experience performing RTCA DO-160 aerospace environmental qualification campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware automation using Python, C++, or similar
