Key Responsibilities

Position Summary: The Telemetry Technologist is responsible for monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms from a central telemetry station. This role requires a thorough understanding of patient care across various age groups and the ability to assess and interpret data reflective of each patient's condition.

The Telemetry Technologist will:

  • Monitor waveforms, identifying both normal rhythms and dysrhythmias.
  • Document rhythm strips every shift and as necessary, noting any changes in rhythm.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain telemetry transmitters and receivers.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding any abnormal rhythms or changes in patient status.
  • Provide support and serve as a resource to the healthcare team.
  • Address questions or concerns from patients, families, and visitors, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize resources efficiently and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations, seeking guidance as needed.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Candidates must pass the EKG Exam. Completion of Block 1 Nursing, Technician-Patient Care (PCT), Medical Assistant (MA), Nursing Assistant (NA), Paramedic, or have six months of relevant experience is required.
