About the Role

Barton House Memory Care by Novellus Living is seeking a competent and qualified Medication Technician to administer resident medications and coordinate treatments. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the highest level of care for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute medication to residents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate regular communication with families, residents, pharmacy, physician, and supervisor regarding medication services.
  • Regularly review resident medication administration records, centrally stored records, and pharmacy transaction records, reporting any errors to the Resident Care Director.
  • Order, receive, and track medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests, adhering to established safety standards.
  • Assist in staff training and participate in orientation of new staff.
  • Assist with resident care when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
  • Excellent patient care skills.
  • Patience and compassion when dealing with others.
  • Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers or employees of the organization.
  • Must be available to work flexible work hours due to demands of the position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
