We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team at AHU Technologies Inc. as a Financial Transaction Coordinator in the District of Columbia Government Agency.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues that may arise.

The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge of collection and deposit methods, equipment, procedures, and techniques used in accounting and reconciliation activities, as well as technical knowledge of uniform commercial codes governing negotiable instruments cash security procedures.

About the Job:

We are responsible for nine agencies in the district, and the incumbent will learn multiple sites. The schedule will rotate to a new site every six months, with each site having different hours of operation. The standard tour of duty is Monday through Friday, with one 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two paid 15-minute breaks.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Receiving and processing bulk depositions, proofs, and validating receipts collected to journal entries received and reconciling discrepancies;
    Performing daily reconcilement of monies received to customer presented documents;
    Examining documents presented for payment from the public and explaining involved and changing regulations;
    Providing courteous and timely customer service to the various customers serviced by the Client;
    Scanning documentation and payments into multiple systems.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A high school diploma;
    Practical knowledge of collection and deposit methods, equipment, procedures, and techniques used in accounting and reconciliation activities;
    Technical knowledge of uniform commercial codes governing negotiable instruments cash security procedures;
    Skilled in handling large sums of monies, computing the difference between amount due and monies received; and recognizing counterfeit currency;
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); and
    Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
