Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Automation Systems Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining automation solutions and advanced IIoT/Industry 4.0 technologies in support of manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop physical automation solutions (robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems) and their integration with business systems (primarily using Ignition)
  • Collaborate with the factory to identify, develop, and deploy process automation systems and digital solutions
  • Integration of equipment with business systems for performance monitoring, data collection, and/or transactional automation
  • Exposure and input to full I4.0 project lifecycle– from requirements generation to technical project management to execution & sustainment of automation projects
Requirements:
  • Typically requires BS in an Engineering field or the sciences (STEM)
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or 5+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Fanuc Robotics experience
  • Rockwell PLC experience
  • Keyence, Cognex, or iRVision programming experience
  • Python or other scripting experience
