Deli Department Associate

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our deli department team at Lowes Foods. As a Deli Department Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent guest service through deli department activities, including preparing product for sale, maintaining product level and quality, and maintaining sanitation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
- Perform assigned duties in a fast-paced work environment while interacting with guests and team members.
- Ability to explain product available in specific area (ingredients, flavors, menu items).
- Actively provide samples to guests and explain offering as needed.
- Maintain product level, quality and freshness according to station guidelines.
- Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area and sales area.
- Communicate guest requests to management and/or satisfy request in a timely manner.
- Communicate temperature and/or product breakdowns to supervisor.
- Keep supply and work area neat, clean and tidy at all times.
- Maintain proper grooming and uniform standard.
- Ability to execute and train on duties of all hosts as outlined above.
- Work with management to ensure proper standards are maintained.
- Ability to work with management on orders.
- Ability to assist in completing schedules.
- Performs front end duties to insure no noticeable wait standard is maintained.
- Announce specials and sale info on the PA system.
- Assist in product receiving and storage.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year prior food service preparation experience is a must.
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
- Friendly, outgoing personality.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to read and understand information and direction.
- Effective communication, customer service and selling skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
