Position Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Warehouse Material Handler. This role is crucial for ensuring the precise and effective receipt and storage of materials essential for our manufacturing operations. The Warehouse Material Handler plays a vital role within the production team, requiring a thorough understanding of materials and the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized schedule for incoming materials and develop strategies for their off-loading.
- Accurately process department requisitions and distribute parts throughout the facility.
- Conduct inspections of materials to ensure quality standards are met.
- Review and verify purchase orders for accuracy.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of materials is maintained.
- Adhere to established material control procedures.
- Communicate effectively with procurement personnel, supervisors, and relevant production staff regarding material deliveries.
- Oversee material inventory and ensure proper storage practices.
Qualifications
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and integrate information effectively.
- Ability to interact confidently with all levels of the organization.
- Capability to meet critical deadlines and manage schedules efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Excellent written communication skills, demonstrating proper grammar and spelling.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of forklift operation experience.
- Prior experience in construction, warehouse, or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
- Experience in shipping and receiving is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including full mobility in both upper and lower body, reaching overhead, and working in different positions such as standing, bending, and kneeling. The role may involve lifting, pulling, and pushing materials and equipment, with the capability to lift up to 70 pounds as needed. Employees may encounter typical shop conditions, including noise, dust, and fumes.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $22 to $34, based on experience and qualifications.
