In this role, the Eye Care Product Specialist will operate under limited supervision to market and promote a variety of proprietary eye care solutions to healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize analytical tools to develop a strategic business plan for the territory, focusing on product portfolio opportunities and directives from the corporate office.
  • Enhance territory performance by driving growth in prescriptions and market share.
  • Stay informed about managed care coverage for products and effectively communicate updates to healthcare providers.
  • Employ and refine clinical selling techniques to provide value and influence customer perspectives on treatment options and patient management, including:
    • Managing promotional budgets and determining expenditures aligned with the business plan.
    • Visiting ophthalmologists and optometrists according to an established call plan and independent evaluation of prescription trends and growth potential.
    • Utilizing available samples within FDA guidelines to maximize promotional impact.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in specialty pharmaceutical sales with a proven success record.
  • Residence within the designated territory is required.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology is preferred.
  • Proficiency in utilizing studies, clinical reprints, and other third-party proof sources.
  • Strong computer skills are essential (Microsoft Office); familiarity with systems such as PeopleSoft, GBS, and email administration.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business trade journals, professional publications, and financial reports, as well as to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel to client locations.
  • Some overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Capability to lift up to 20 lbs.

As mandated by California's Salary Transparency Law, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range for roles that can or will be performed in California. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and specific office location. For California, the starting annual base pay range for this role is $100,000 - $123,500.
