Position Overview

NuCara Pharmacy & Infusion Center is seeking a skilled registered nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our infusion clinic. The ideal candidate should be available for a minimum of 1-2 days per week, with a consistent schedule preferred. A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and being a collaborative team member is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administers infusion therapies for patients receiving specialized medications, including biologics and antibiotics.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient therapy, utilizing appropriate clinical skills under the guidance of an advanced practice provider or physician.
  • Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports, and manages central venous access devices.
  • Conducts phlebotomy for laboratory tests as requested by the prescriber.
  • Accurately documents all aspects of patient care.
  • Demonstrates understanding of age-specific needs and physiological differences among patient populations.
  • Ensures efficient patient flow within the clinic.
  • Understands reimbursement processes and charge capture procedures.
  • Communicates relevant patient information and interventions to the supervising physician or advanced practice provider.
  • Acts as a resource for medical assistants.
  • Evaluates patient and family needs, providing education as necessary.
  • Identifies community resources for patients and assists with referrals when needed.
  • Adheres to OSHA guidelines when handling hazardous materials.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specialty infused medications through ongoing education.
  • Engages in professional development activities and maintains necessary competencies.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality is upheld at all times.
Job Types

Part-time, PRN, Per diem

Compensation

Pay: $38.00 per hour

Qualifications
  • Education: Associate degree (Preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in nursing (Preferred)
  • License/Certification: RN (Required), BLS Certification (Preferred)
