POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer within our Outpatient Medical division, you will play a crucial role in preserving and enhancing the value of our healthcare properties. We are looking for a qualified and committed individual who is enthusiastic about property upkeep and excels in a fast-paced, high-achieving environment. This position will oversee a portfolio of assets in the Ann Arbor, MI area and its surroundings. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct and assist colleagues in the maintenance, repair, operation, and general upkeep of assigned properties.
  • Address tenant inquiries regarding lighting, plumbing, and other building-related issues.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks on building systems and components, including physical structures, plumbing, door hardware, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform minor service, troubleshooting, and repairs of building systems.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors as necessary.
  • Support other departments within the company as requested.
  • Engage in all workplace safety training and adhere to all Welltower safety policies and procedures, utilizing safety equipment as required. Identify and promptly address any unsafe conditions or hazards, providing recommendations for mitigation.
  • Assist in responding to after-hours calls and emergency situations, performing tasks essential for the safety and protection of the property and its tenants.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel Requirements: Local travel during business hours, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel as needed.
  • Tools and Equipment: Hand tools, including handheld power tools, utilized in the repair and maintenance of building components and systems. Expect to use these tools approximately 60% of the time.
  • Adverse Conditions: Exposure to various weather conditions, electricity, rotating equipment, heights, and maintenance chemicals (e.g., paints, adhesives, solvents, and water treatment chemicals).
  • Physical Effort: Ability and willingness to climb ladders and scaffolds, repeatedly lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.), squat, bend, and safely operate hand and power tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Previous experience in building maintenance is preferred.

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license and compliance with company motor vehicle operator criteria.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

HVAC Certification is a plus.

Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
