Overview: The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking to appoint a Senior Medical Support Coordinator (MSC) to oversee operations within our Primary Care sector.

This role is essential for ensuring that our Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) are effectively managed and supported in their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination of MSA tasks and workflow across various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient units.
  • Conduct daily assessments of workload, assign responsibilities, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Evaluate training records and identify training needs for MSAs to enhance their capabilities.
  • Assist in complex administrative processes and clinical flow related to patient access across multiple care settings.
  • Provide expert guidance to clinical staff on administrative protocols and utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) for scheduling and processing orders.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments and external agencies to manage patient care and follow-up.
  • Monitor appointment schedules to optimize clinic operations and ensure patient needs are met.
  • Facilitate team meetings and huddles to enhance communication and workflow.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide training and development for staff.
