About This Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement Coach to join our team. As a Quality Improvement Coach, you will be responsible for delivering coaching services to improve the quality of our child care programs. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and engage child care providers to participate in quality improvement activities
  • Conduct onsite coaching visits to provide feedback and support to participants
  • Model developmentally appropriate practices for participants
  • Provide information and resources on early education curricula
  • Maintain effective documentation on work activities and participant progress
  • Facilitate networking opportunities among participants
  • Build connections with local colleges and universities to support provider professional development
  • Assist providers with implementing professional development plans and monitoring progress
  • Stay up-to-date on child care assessment tools and QRIS systems
  • Develop and implement Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) using SMART Goals
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance on ECE professional development opportunities
  • Enter data into our database in a timely manner
  • Support the program supervisor in preparing reports for funders
  • Frequently travel throughout the San Gabriel Valley to provide onsite coaching and attend trainings and meetings
  • Participate in events during evenings or weekends to implement the program
  • Attend designated community and other meetings
  • Participate in annual in-service training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in child development or a related field
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in early childhood education, social work, psychology, public health, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in a child care setting
  • Experience working with adult learners
  • Knowledge of quality rating tools, such as CLASS and the Environmental Rating Scales (ERS)
  • Familiarity with the Quality Counts CA Rating Matrix and other community resources
  • Knowledge of child observation tools, such as the ASQ-3 and the DRDP
  • Knowledge of QRIS systems and quality improvement efforts in the early care and education field
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to be flexible and innovative
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral English
  • California driver's license and daily use of an automobile
  • Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese (preferred)
