Transportation Technician II

The Transportation Technician II is a critical role within the Marietta City Schools fleet department. This position is responsible for the repair and upkeep of all vehicles under the jurisdiction of the Transportation Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel and gasoline engines, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with the Technician I and other team members to ensure efficient and effective vehicle maintenance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years of experience as a mechanic working on trucks or buses.
- NIASE certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license.

The Transportation Technician II will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to loud noises, heavy equipment, and hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will be able to work safely and efficiently in this environment.
