Clinical Nurse Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Lead to join our team at Phoenix Children's Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Lead, you will play a critical role in coordinating shift operational flow, ensuring quality patient care, and promoting a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily clinical operational activities, ensuring quality family-centered care is delivered in an efficient work environment.
- Manage patient throughput, balancing unit patient care activities while overseeing admissions, discharges, transfers, and providing clinical care.
- Oversee staffing processes, coordinating assignments using established staffing levels to match individualized patient needs with staff competencies.
- Monitor unit environment, ensuring staff has necessary supplies, equipment, information, and resources to provide quality patient care.
- Staff, schedule, and utilize nursing and support staff effectively.
- Document and update scheduling, occurrence reports, patient/family concerns, and quality indicators in real-time.
- Provide reports to the manager or designee on patient throughput, staffing processes, unit environment, and quality indicators.
- Collaborate with the manager to lead, create, and maintain an environment that advocates for staff and promotes individual/team engagement.
- Demonstrate and promote clinical leadership, serving as a clinical and system expert with nursing and an interdisciplinary team member.
- Promote a culture of learning, resulting in staff/team development and retention.
- Achieve departmental outcomes, aligning and managing to organization metrics.
- Identify, facilitate, and lead departmental performance improvement projects that enhance patient care delivery systems and staff, patient, family, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure timely completion and investigation of occurrence reports, proactively identifying patient safety risks and participating in risk avoidance strategies.
- Take personal responsibility to adhere to department/organization policies and procedures, compliance, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop, review, revise, and implement evidence-based policies and procedures.
