Job Title: Director of Housing

Job Summary:

The Director of Housing is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the operational processes of housing approximately 2200 students across 12 residential areas. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage the housing process, including room assignments, Graduate Housing, and Married Housing areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the housing process for new and returning students, including project annual housing needs and managing available campus housing.
  • Coordinate room changes, cancellations, and additions, and communicate with students, parents, and employees regarding residential student housing.
  • Collaborate with Residence Life Leadership Team and provide support to Residence Life staff on housing operations and concerns.
  • Oversee the programming, training, and implementation of the housing system software.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with Admissions, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and other key partners across campus.
  • Manage operational budgets of areas under direct supervision.
  • Serve as the content manager for Housing on the university portal and external website.
  • Maintain residence hall room furniture inventory and coordinate the U-Loft in-house bed loft rental program.
  • Communicate with RDs regularly to ensure housing records are complete and accurate.
  • Serve on committees and taskforces within the university as assigned and requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in Student Affairs or related field strongly preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work both independently and as a willing and effective member of a larger team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various university departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
