Lead Staff Registered Nurse

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Trauma Lead. This position is responsible for optimizing daily function and care delivery provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) in the Trauma Service Line.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical guidance and support to direct-report APCs
- Liaise between APCs, nursing, physicians, and other providers to ensure seamless care delivery
- Ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling are maintained, and escalate needs in a timely manner
- Develop and implement process improvement plans to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency of care
- Critically evaluate care delivery structures and plans to identify areas for improvement
- Identify educational opportunities and ensure structured delivery to APCs
- Collaborate with physician director on initiatives and committees to ensure representation and participation
- Identify opportunities for APCs to participate in research and development
- Communicate effectively with individual APCs and colleagues to ensure positive working relationships
- Ensure onboarding process is in place and followed for new APCs
- Provide valuable feedback to APC manager for yearly evaluations
- Ensure APCs maintain necessary competencies for clinical privileges
- Certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Experience as an Advanced Practice Clinician, preferably in Trauma
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a postmasters certificate program for nurse practitioners
