Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Unit Supervisor for our Telemetry Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and leading a team of dedicated professionals.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the nursing staff on the Telemetry Unit. This includes conducting shift huddles, rounding on patients, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Conduct high-quality shift huddles to communicate strategic priorities and ensure effective patient care.
- Rounds on staff continually to remove or escalate barriers to providing quality care and enhance staff engagement.
- Reviews core measures and key performance indicators to analyze unit-based service outcomes and develop action plans for improvement.
- Participates in emergency and safety preparedness drills/trainings as required.
- Ensures adherence to The Joint Commission standards relevant to areas of responsibility.
- Contributes to professional decision making to support and/or implement unit-based quality improvement work and strategic outcomes.
- Certification: Basic Life Support; Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 12 months of hire.
- Licensure: Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing their BSN).
