Leave Specialist 3 Job Description

**Job Summary**

The Leave Specialist 3 serves as a team lead for the leave administration program, providing subject matter expertise to other leave team members. This role is responsible for developing and integrating new processes for administering leaves of absence, managing assigned leave and accommodation cases, and coordinating with HRBP and Manager as needed.

**Key Responsibilities**

### Customer Service

* Serve as a leave of absence, Disability, and Accommodation subject matter expert lead, handling escalations from Leave Reps and Specialists.
* Assist team members, leaders, and other HR staff in all stages of the leave life cycle, including initial request, pay while on leave, documentation, and return to work.
* Coordinate with applicable parties, including legal counsel, to administer FMLA, state-mandated, company leaves, and workplace accommodations.
* Create and update leave of absence records in HRIS and leave management systems.

### Departmental Support

* Develop processes and procedures related to leave of absence program activities with management approval.
* Work with internal departments and external vendors to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
* Investigate, analyze, and resolve escalated issues related to leave of absence, Disability, and workplace accommodation.
* Act as the leave of absence lead on escalated document review, hardship review, complex leave situations, and HRIS initiatives.

### Research

* Conduct research on behalf of Coes to resolve submitted cases or escalated inquiries from Leave Rep or Specialist 1/2.

### Quality

* Perform monthly random audits on leave cases to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and policy.

**Qualifications**

* 4 years of HR experience
* Bachelor's Degree
* Advanced computer skills, highly developed oral and written communication skills, and excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
