Position Summary:
The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive training programs tailored for the operations at Quality Steel. This role ensures that all team members receive consistent and effective training aligned with industry standards and best practices. The Specialist will implement a structured training methodology and will play a crucial role in onboarding and retaining skilled personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain training materials for plant operations, ensuring adherence to established training protocols.
- Facilitate the training and certification of operational trainers, employing a systematic training approach.
- Develop and manage training and cross-training matrices to track employee progress.
- Assist in the creation and revision of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and related documentation to support ongoing training initiatives.
- Oversee the Technical Training Audit Program to verify compliance with training standards.
- Maintain a database for training materials to ensure version control and accessibility.
- Support the development of onboarding resources for new employees to familiarize them with operational processes.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical training development.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Training Within Industry (TWI) standards is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong self-management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Proficient in meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Educational Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to other company locations may be necessary.
