Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reliability Engineer to join our Project Kuiper team. As a key member of our hardware systems reliability team, you will be responsible for driving the design for reliability of our OISL hardware systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the reliability process for our hardware systems
  • Deliver on program reliability objectives
  • Interface closely with subsystem teams and Kuiper reliability team
  • Provide technical input and guidance on designs
  • Support with detailed analysis and test capabilities
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Reliability Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with failure analysis activities and root cause analysis
  • 5+ years of experience with accelerated life testing (ALT, HALT/HASS)
  • Experience with design for reliability in space environments
  • Experience with full range of environmental stress testing, fatigue testing, vibration and shock testing, electrical stress testing, ESD testing
  • Experience with space hardware qualification (MIL Std 1540 / SMC-S-016)
  • Experience with custom component package development, qualification and deployment into the field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with failure analysis techniques: electrical debug, cross-sectioning, dye and pry and microscopy
  • Experience with reliability assessment and test for long duration 'moving mechanical assemblies' in harsh (space) environments
  • Experience with software and programming: Ansys Mechanical, Sherlock Automated Design Analysis and Python

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
