Job Title: Lifeguard

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at Beaufort County Parks and Recreation Services.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Lifeguard will work in a specialized area of recreation, instructing any level of class needed in aquatics specialty. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Lifeguard certification, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications from the American Red Cross.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare course objectives, plans lessons, selects appropriate drills, and evaluates students and course.
  • Provide water safety instruction and lifeguarding services to the public.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and possess basic communication, comprehension, and math skills.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in high school.
  • One (1) year experience in aquatics (swimming instruction, water safety instruction, life guarding, first aid, CPR).
  • Valid Lifeguard certification, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications from the American Red Cross.
  • Basic communication, comprehension, and math skills required.
  • Valid driver's license.
