Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Financial Management Coordinator to join the Office for Food and Nutrition Programs (FNP). As a key member of the FNP team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management activities of the office, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial resources of the FNP, including budgeting, procurement, financial reporting, audits, and payment activities.
  • Oversee the School Food Authority (SFA) financial management monitoring process, including the Resource Management Comprehensive Reviews and Procurement Reviews.
  • Conduct external training on financial management topics and provide ongoing technical assistance to FNP staff.
  • Create and continuously update internal policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial management service delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Child Nutrition laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of program admission and compliance procedures.
  • Knowledge of general accepted financial procedures and federal, state, and municipal finance laws and regulations.
  • Ability to render, evaluate, and advise on Child Nutrition Financial related services.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate data of moderate complexity, from a wide variety of sources, and make appropriate recommendations.
Minimum Entrance Requirements

Applicants must have at least five years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in financial management work, including budgeting, accounting, auditing, management analysis, program evaluation, and financial reporting of program results.

A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two years of the required experience. A Graduate degree or higher in a related field may be substituted for three years of the required experience. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four years of the required experience.
