About the Position

SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a Director for our CSTEP (Collegiate Science, Technology Entry Program) grant. The goal of this grant is to increase the successful completion of science and technology degree programs by those students who are currently underrepresented in those fields.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer program budget
  • Provide fiscal and programmatic management for CSTEP Grant
  • Prepare project compliance, performance and evaluation reports
  • Recruit, enroll and counsel participants
  • Advocate for needs of disadvantaged students within the institution
  • Coordinate and promote project activities and services with other campus departments and community agencies
  • Remain current on relevant literature related to student development research and effective interventions for retention and graduation of historically underrepresented and academically underprepared students in higher education
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in any science, technology field, licensed profession, or science education
  • Experience working with students from historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged groups
  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
