Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor Manager to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the laboratory team to maximize employee, equipment, and material utilization within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure that all laboratory procedures are conducted in accordance with quality technical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
  • Perform supervisory functions, including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling.
  • Participate in government or regulatory agency inspections, as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years full-time supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Comprehensive theoretical and operational job knowledge in designated specialty.
  • Knowledge of organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, establish work priorities, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with employees, co-workers, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year as a Supervisor at Quest Diagnostics.
  • ASCP Certification.
Physical and Mental Requirements

The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses, all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
