Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join our team at Allina Health, a leading healthcare provider in the Twin Cities region. As a Women's Health Specialist, you will provide comprehensive care to women throughout their lives, from adolescence to senior care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to obstetric and gynecology patients, including general medicine, reproductive system, pregnancy, and childbirth.
  • Review patient medical history, collect and prioritize comprehensive data, and work collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
  • Practice in a thoughtful manner, considering cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team approach to case management and utilize quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in patient care and outcomes.
  • May participate in peer review and quality assurance.

Practice Details:

  • We have eight labor and delivery locations, with 13,800 deliveries per year, 30 clinics, 53 OBGYNs, 21 OB hospitalists, 13 Clinical Nurse Midwives, 11 Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, and 2 fetal interventionalists.
  • We offer nursing support programs for prescription refills, triage, and pap results, as well as after-hours answering service support.
  • We have a quaternary hospital, Abbott Northwestern, with a Level IV NICU, and tertiary hospitals, Mercy and United, with Level III NICUs, and six regional hospitals.
  • We provide mentorship and learning opportunities from a group of 80+ providers across our health system.
  • We collaborate with integrative medicine, perinatal mental health consultants, and uro/gyn APP support.
  • We use Excellian, our EMR, which is a software product from Epic and considered one of the most comprehensive systems in the nation.

Requirements:

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
  • BE/BC with ABMS or AOA within Obstetrics and Gynecology upon hire.
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable.
  • BLS Tier 3 - required within 6 months of hire.
  • This position is based out of Shoreview Clinic with hospital work at United Hospital.
  • Average 4 call shifts per month. Shifts range from 10-14 hours.
  • Ultrasound experience preferred or willing to be trained.
