Job Summary:The Banquet Captain at The Foundry Hotel Asheville, Curio Collection is a key member of the Hospitality/Restaurant team responsible for coordinating and overseeing all banquet events at the hotel.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to provide exceptional service to our guests.
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule and opportunity for growth within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of banquet events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
- Communicate effectively with banquet staff and other hotel departments to ensure a smooth and successful event.
- Train and supervise banquet staff, ensuring they follow proper procedures and provide excellent service to guests.
- Set up and arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment according to event specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized banquet space, ensuring it meets the hotel's standards of cleanliness.
- Communicate with clients and event planners to ensure all event details and specifications are met.
- Troubleshoot and quickly resolve any issues that may arise during events.
- Assist with ordering and inventory of banquet supplies and equipment.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as creating event orders and managing guest counts and room setups.
- Attend and participate in pre-shift meetings and other staff meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a banquet or event management role.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and safety procedures.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to train and supervise banquet staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software.
