Covaris, a leading technology company in Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced Strategic Product/Program Manager. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong scientific background and expertise in product management. The candidate should be able to translate customer needs into a clear and concise message to drive solution development. The successful candidate will be a creative and resourceful team player, collaborating closely with all functions at Covaris (Marketing, Sales, Applications, R&D, Manufacturing, and Engineering). The position will be based in Woburn, MA.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing the strategic vision for the product portfolio, encompassing new product development and life cycle management.
  • Identifying and driving strategic collaborations and acquisitions.
  • Monitoring and assessing competitive companies and products and their relationship to Covaris' product portfolio.
  • Creating sales tools, marketing messaging, training tools, and collateral in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • Leading a Key Opinion Leader network to support existing products and the development of new products.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in Product Management and Strategic Development.
  • Coordinating the deployment of materials to Covaris' distribution partners.
  • Gaining deep customer knowledge by interacting with customers to understand their technical requirements and translating this into product definition and development.
  • Aligning with Sales, Marketing, and Applications on technical product requirements for new products.
  • Analyzing new business opportunities with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Applications.

Requirements include:

  • A PhD or Master's degree in a biological or chemical field with experience in Genomics, preferably with Oncology experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management and/or marketing, with a minimum of 5 years in the life sciences industry.
  • Experience branding products for life science research or clinical diagnostics is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills, analytical skills, and ability to translate data into actionable plans.
  • Critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and timelines.

Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
