Position Summary

The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for documenting, assessing, and reporting on the financial performance of various functional areas in alignment with corporate objectives. This includes metrics related to Net Income from Operations, manufacturing efficiencies, resource utilization, customer delivery timelines, overhead costs, and product quality.

The role involves conducting intricate program performance evaluations, financial assessments, and statistical analyses for manufacturing and engineering sectors. The goal is to monitor, report, and anticipate necessary corrective actions to meet or exceed customer and senior management expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed analysis of customer margins by contract, model, and part number.
  • Clarify cost components to management to facilitate informed decisions that enhance margins while ensuring quality and delivery standards.
  • Identify and implement effective methodologies for analyzing financial results and operational data required by Purchasing, Programs, and Manufacturing Operations management.
  • Deliver insightful information to management along with actionable plans to achieve desired financial outcomes.
  • Examine trends in direct and indirect labor levels.
  • Maintain open communication with managers regarding their expenditures and financial performance, fostering strong relationships across all management levels.
  • Conduct analyses of indirect costs and program expenses to ensure financial and operational performance targets are met.
  • Adhere to the company's human relations policies, ensuring fair treatment for all employees while optimizing productivity and resource use.
  • Implement the company's Equal Opportunity Policy in all personnel actions, promoting effective affirmative action to meet facility goals.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred, with an MBA being highly desirable.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Manufacturing Management and/or Production reporting and analysis.
  • Experience in program finance is highly preferred, particularly in Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) is a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with senior management and align with corporate financial and operational goals.
  • Ability to conduct and present complex empirical and statistical analyses, including data identification, model design, analysis, and formulation of recommendations.
  • High level of maturity, tact, and diplomacy is essential for this sensitive role.
