Position Overview

The Senior Buyer is responsible for local commercial oversight and non-strategic sourcing within their designated geographical area, typically encompassing a larger site or a cluster of smaller sites.

This role involves managing in-contract modifications, transfers, or new product sourcing, ensuring competitive pricing aligns with our aerospace commodity strategy. You will oversee supplier delivery for sourced parts until First Article Inspection (FAI) is completed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage procurement activities and site evaluations for the assigned geographical area.
  • Serve as the interface between program and commodity management for new sourcing and change initiatives, adhering to the group commodity strategy.
  • Assist commodity managers in supplier selection through RFQ/RFP processes utilizing E-Sourcing tools.
  • Support major and minor parts/supplier transfers and industrialization through to FAI.
  • Implement global/regional agreements within the designated area.
  • Negotiate the transition of parts from Purchase Order to Schedule, including consignment arrangements.
  • Ensure all purchase order demands are met, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Oversee site procurement change control, export control, and ITAR compliance.
  • Maintain the integrity of the site Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Ensure accurate and updated item/contract data management.
  • Facilitate the flow of customer materials, pricing, and forecasts to suppliers.
  • Identify and support cost reduction initiatives and supplier development plans aligned with business needs.
  • Manage supplier risk assessments using financial analysis tools.
  • Control raw material inventory levels for purchase order parts in accordance with program timelines.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies related to pricing.
  • Act as an escalation point for cost and contractual issues with suppliers, collaborating with commodity management as necessary.
Qualifications

Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Supply Chain/Procurement.
  • A minimum of 4 years in a Buyer/Purchasing Agent capacity.
  • Experience in procuring Direct Materials, including composites and machine-formed metal components.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card Holder due to security clearance requirements.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry (FARS/DFARS).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across various organizational levels.
  • Ability to motivate and empower team members to achieve results.
  • Proficient in communicating complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness to customer expectations.
  • Capability to take ownership of decisions and outcomes.
