Perinatal Nurse

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Mother-Baby Unit is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Perinatal Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to mothers and newborns, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge.
- Collaborate with patients and families to provide theory-based professional nursing care and coordinate care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide family-centered, holistic care that supports the new family during this time of changing needs.
- Participate in collaborative governance at the unit and hospital level, taking advantage of self-scheduling and excellent nurse-to-patient ratios.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems to ensure accurate and efficient care delivery.
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited academic nursing program required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited academic nursing program preferred.
- 1-2 years RN experience required.
- State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment required.
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
