Job Summary

The MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team. As a PRN Nurse Grp II, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to a culture of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide relationship-based care, promoting continuous, consistent, efficient, and accountable delivery of nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Demonstrate professional practice, utilizing the framework of the professional practice model and adhering to a culture of safety and quality.
  • Communicate and collaborate with interprofessional groups to ensure coordination, continuity, and safe care.
  • Support and contribute to the unit, department, and organizational goals, inclusive of the mission, vision, and values.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality activities, serving as a preceptor or mentor, and incorporating evidence-based practice and research into patient care delivery.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing preferred.
  • At least two (2) years recent acute care experience in the relevant patient care area required.
  • RN- Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
  • C-EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) is required for Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery, antepartum, antenatal testing) within 12 months from date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in specialty or related specialty preferred.
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
