Position Overview

The Transportation Business Line at AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Project Engineer to contribute to significant projects. The selected individual will work closely with the Construction Manager and will initially handle various office responsibilities. As the project progresses from planning and design to construction, duties may evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process contractor invoices.
  • Compile invoices and necessary documentation for client payment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of inspectors' reports.
  • Coordinate inspection schedules with subconsultants and third-party laboratories.
  • Utilize MS Office and construction management software to fulfill tasks.
  • Review, track, and manage submittals, RFIs, RFCs, design submissions, shop drawings, and work plans.
  • Assess the completeness and accuracy of construction documents.
  • Compile and maintain records of review comments and submissions.
  • Report on the status of submittal and design reviews during progress meetings.
  • Prepare work plans, safety guidelines, specifications, and operational requirements.
  • Analyze data, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with project schedules, budgets, and safety regulations.
  • Facilitate coordination with external agencies.
  • Maintain project files and interpret contract specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, accompanied by eight (8) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for site visits and meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience in construction inspection.
  • Experience with rail, transit, or tunnel construction projects.
  • Certification as a Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction management applications.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and team meetings.
