Job Summary

MaineHealth's Patient Financial Services team is seeking a skilled Patient Financial Services Associate II to join their team. This is a 100% remote opportunity.

Job Description

This role is part of a revenue cycle career path within PFS and is responsible for specific patient accounting tasks, including billing, training, and follow-up/denial resolution of insurance claims. The ideal candidate will have experience in a related healthcare field, preferably with hospital or provider-based billing experience. They will work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously and utilizing keyboard and data entry skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet communication is required, as well as the ability to work effectively with electronic work quality monitoring and electronic systems.

Requirements
  1. High School graduate or GED preferred.
  2. N/A for license/certifications.
  3. 9 months of experience in a related healthcare field, with hospital or provider-based billing experience preferred.
  4. Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Proficiencies: Keyboard and data entry skills required. Computer experience is required with Microsoft Word and Excel, e-mail, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work effectively with electronic work quality monitoring and electronic systems.
  6. Requires the employee to have experience with, or the capability to be trained to solve problems and work towards solutions in an independent and/or team manner.
  7. Proven proficiency in working a minimum of one role (billing, collections, or healthcare accounts receivables training) for one payer (hospital) or one specialty (physician) or training.
  8. Specialized knowledge: Hospital or Provider-Based billing preferred.
  9. Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD9/10 codes.
