Collections Specialist Opportunity

Creative Financial Staffing is working with a leading women's apparel firm in the Dayton, New Jersey area to find a skilled Collections Specialist. This role is a great opportunity for a professional with experience in accounts receivable and collections to join a dynamic team and contribute to the firm's success.

About the Firm

The firm is a well-established global distributor of high-end fashion apparel and accessories. The role is located in Dayton, New Jersey and will be in office full time, with parking available on site. The team has a strong family feel, with many members having been with the organization for over 15 years. The firm offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and opportunities for upward movement in the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect outstanding invoices and unauthorized or excessive deductions.
  • Assign deductions to correct Division and Type/Reason code for accurate recording in the proper reserve accounts in the general ledger.
  • Prepare and submit adjustments.
  • Identify key opportunities for recovery or prevention of deductions.
  • Prioritize material issues and address them with a sense of urgency.
  • Negotiate exemptions with retailers.
  • Communicate and escalate issues to department management.
  • Recognize opportunities for change and improvement of processes.
  • Interpret shipping documents (POD for terms/reconciliation of liability for missing goods).
Requirements
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, with strong collections experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables).
  • Experience with JD Edwards and AS400 is a plus.
