Job Summary

As a Food Runner at Saracen Casino Resort, you will provide exceptional food and beverage service to our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver food products to our guests in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick up food products from the kitchen and deliver them to our guests.
  • Assist the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing.
  • Set up the front line with equipment, plate ware, and small wares needed to effectively serve all food products.
  • Keep station restocked throughout the shift.
  • Accurately describe all food and beverage items on the menu and answer questions about those items.
  • Read order tickets as they arrive and place them on the ticket minder.
  • Track cooking times on all orders and check finished products for proper degree of doneness, appearance, and plate presentation.
  • Garnish finished entrees according to house specifications and procedures.
  • Assist the server as needed to optimize the guest's dining experience.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the chef or other manager on duty.
  • Complete all opening, closing, and running duties, including side work in the front and/or back of the house as assigned and scheduled by the management team.
  • Inventory stock, fill requisitions, and communicate with the kitchen and beverage department to maintain proper levels of food and beverages.
  • Monitor, prepare, display, and maintain food items to ensure presentation and freshness throughout the shift.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment and utensils according to established guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Maintain, clean, organize, and stock the prep area according to established property guidelines, including health and safety.
  • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines.
  • Provide personalized service and use guest names.
  • Resolve service problems according to guidelines.
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Attend all necessary training meetings.
  • Assist in other projects as directed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalency preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have food service knowledge to prepare and maintain food items within property guidelines, including health and safety.
  • Knows cocktail ingredients and proper mixing and pouring techniques.
  • Available to work required schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
