Job Summary

As a Food Runner at Saracen Casino Resort, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver food and beverages to our guests in a timely and efficient manner. You will work closely with our kitchen and service staff to ensure that our guests receive the highest level of service and quality food.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Pick up food orders from the kitchen and deliver them to our guests in a timely manner.
  2. Assist the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing.
  3. Set up the front line with the necessary equipment, plate ware, and small wares to effectively serve all food products.
  4. Keep the station restocked throughout the shift.
  5. Accurately describe all food and beverage items on the menu and answer questions about those items.
  6. Read order tickets as they arrive and place them on the ticket minder.
  7. Track cooking times on all orders and check finished products for proper degree of doneness, appearance, and plate presentation.
  8. Garnish finished entrees according to house specifications and procedures.
  9. Assist the server as needed to optimize the guest's dining experience.
  10. Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the chef or other manager on duty.
  11. Complete all opening, closing, and running duties, including side work in the front and/or back of the house as assigned and scheduled by the management team.
  12. Inventory stock, fill requisitions, and communicate with the kitchen and beverage department to maintain proper levels of food and beverages.
  13. Monitor, prepare, display, and maintain food items to ensure presentation and freshness throughout the shift.
  14. Operate and maintain all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
  15. Maintain, clean, organize, and stock the prep area in accordance with established property guidelines, including health and safety.
  16. Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines.
  17. Provide personalized service and use guest names.
  18. Resolve service problems according to guidelines.
  19. Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
  20. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
  21. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  22. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  23. Attend all necessary training meetings.
  24. Assist in other projects as directed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalency preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food service and preparation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure.

  • Must have the physical ability to work with extreme weather and the ability to lift 50 pounds, to squat, stand, or bend repeatedly.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
