Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant at Crystal Clinic provides medical services under the supervision of a physician, assessing patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examinations. The ideal candidate will have a Physician Assistant Degree and a minimum of three to five years of experience in the field. Key responsibilities include promoting patient health, establishing diagnoses, and providing routine, acute, and chronic patient care. The successful candidate will be certified by the NCCPA and licensed to practice as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and maintain patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician
Assess patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examinations
Establish diagnoses for a patient's illness or injuries
Provide routine, acute, and chronic patient care, including orthopedic exams, wellness physical exams, and pre-operative interviews and exams
Complete appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services rendered in the medical record
Triage patient calls and take appropriate action, or refer to appropriate physician or office staff
Function as a first assistant in the operating room, including surgical exposure, suturing, and closure
Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, skin preparation, and administration of local anesthetic
Perform pre- and post-operative patient education to patients and their families
Prescribe needed medicines to patients, write appropriate orders, and execute protocols as necessary
Conduct minor procedures, including suturing, splinting, and casting
Consult with physicians and/or specialists as appropriate
Monitor patients' progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries, or other medical events
Communicate with referring or primary care physicians regarding patient care and treatment
Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, case managers, and other advance practitioners
Develop healthcare team staff by providing information, educational, and experiential growth opportunities
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, including infection-control policies and protocols
Assist other staff as needed and take calls 24/7
Requirements
Physician Assistant Degree required
Minimum three to five years of experience in the field or profession
Good organizational skills and exceptional customer service skills
Certified by the NCCPA and licensed to practice as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Ohio
BLS required
