About the Role

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant I to join our Hematology Oncology team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Perform and interpret common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic, and other routine diagnostic procedures to identify pathophysiologic processes.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority through applicable state Board of Nursing/Medicine and CCF policy.
  • Participate in medical team rounds, collaborate with nursing, medical, and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and treatment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited APRN program or A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program.
  • Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in applicable state(s).
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
