Emergency CDL Equipment Operator
Job Summary:The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking skilled Emergency CDL Equipment Operators to work in Franklin County. As a Transportation Operator II, you will be responsible for operating medium and heavy-duty equipment, such as dump trucks, tractors, and front-end loaders, to clear snow and ice from roadways. You will also perform heavy manual labor, including standing, bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate medium and heavy-duty equipment, such as dump trucks, tractors, and front-end loaders, to clear snow and ice from roadways.
- Perform heavy manual labor, including standing, bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work 12-hour shifts during 24-hour emergency operations conditions.
- Respond to emergency situations, including inclement weather and hazardous traffic conditions.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (minimum Class B) required.
- Experience operating medium and heavy-duty equipment, such as dump trucks, tractors, and front-end loaders.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, night and/or day, when necessary.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
