Job Summary

The Arkansas Government Job is seeking a highly skilled Forest Ranger I to join our team. As a key member of our Forestry Division, you will play a critical role in protecting and preserving Arkansas' natural resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate and suppress wildfires, ensuring the safety of people and property.
  • Conduct forest propagation, fire prevention, and timber management activities.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including dozers and plows, to construct fire lines.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform forest management decisions.
  • Present fire prevention programs to local communities and schools.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience in tractor/truck operations and maintenance.
  • Commercial driver's license (CDL) and ability to pass an annual physical standard.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Residency within the county of work station or within a 30-minute response time.
  • General computer skills and ability to use GPS and data recorders.
