We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plant Helper to join our team at Arepet Industries, LLC. As a Plant Helper, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing tasks such as lubricating machinery, monitoring plant conveyors, and inspecting the plant daily.
- Clear sand from the hopper at every opportunity and guide trucks entering the yard to safe racks.
- Operate the safe rack to open and close trailer hatches and perform heavy equipment checklists daily.
- Assist in performing the Production Area Inspection Checklist and observe critical points of plant operation, responding with corrective actions when necessary.
- Report any critical issues to the Foreman and assist in coordinating and executing the loading and unloading of trucks.
- Coordinate with drivers to ensure proper loading of sand from the hopper by weight and type of sand.
- Assist the Foreman and Mechanic on duty to ensure continued operation of the plant and equipment.
- Ensure the plant and warehouse area is ready for production and areas are free of debris and organized by sand type.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in a plant environment preferred.
- Heavy equipment experience preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to read equipment operating manuals and wear all required safety equipment.
- Ability to communicate with hand signals and warning sounds and work in a team environment.
- Ability to perform duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
This job requires working outside in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, and requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders, stoop, bend, and lift 50 pounds from ground to waist level.
This job also requires the ability to work at various heights, possess good hand/eye coordination, and operate hand/foot controls.
Possess good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 150 feet.
