Job Overview

Position Title: Accounts Receivable Analyst

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Accounting

Reporting To: Director of Revenue and Treasury Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing a portfolio of Attorney's Accounts Receivable.
  • Monitoring the status of the Receivable portfolio through the accounting system's collection program.
  • Engaging with Attorneys and Clients concerning overdue invoices.
  • Facilitating negotiations on repayment terms with Clients and tracking repayment activities.
  • Executing Accounts Receivable write-offs as necessary.
  • Creating and dispatching Reminder Statements to Clients with outstanding balances.
  • Participating in monthly Billing and Collection Committee Meetings.
  • Conducting research and providing requested collection information to Attorneys or Clients.
  • Assisting in the daily payment application process, including posting checks and electronic payments using an automated payment application.
  • Investigating duplicate payments, overpayments, and short payments, and communicating discrepancies with the Attorney or Client.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Accounts Receivable/Payment Application within a professional services context.
  • Capability to perform under time constraints, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in person, via email, and over the phone with Clients, Attorneys, and other staff members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with legal accounting software, preferably Aderant.
  • Experience in filing documents through a document management system.
  • Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the employer.
